The tropical palm of the Elaeocarpaceae family has been grown for a very long time by the Mapuche Indians, who consider it a magical fruit that gives strength and endurance. They use Maqui in the form of a drink from the crushed berries. Maqui is considered to be the strongest antioxidant ever and also has an anti-inflammatory effect. It plays an important role in cancer prevention too.
Maqui berries are also a valuable source of amino acids, vitamins, fibre and minerals.
